I had fun exploring the sites suggested; World EBook Fair, Project Gutenberg and LibriVox. I was overwhelmed by the content; there are at least one million free electronic books on the internet! That got me wondering about copyright; most seemed to have information about U.S.A. copyright but not Australia – I will explore that at a later date.
I decided to search for my favourites; Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone and Wuthering Heights; to compare the new and the old. I couldn’t find Harry Potter on any of the above sites but did find both the audio and ebook on mydigitallife. Unfortunately I couldn’t access them at school the link was blocked by Bright Sparks.
On Worldebook I found a Blog. I also loved browsing their catalogue; books from CIA through religious to the classics. On Project Gutenberg I loved the scanned childrens classic complete with the beautiful illustrations. LibriVox offered a chapter a day sent to one’s email which appealed to me.
I then looked at “Best Places to Get Free Books”. I was unaware that so many sites existed. I closed the site and wrote this post.
